About This Project.
This was a photography project done for the “Gateway” program at the University of Oregon. The assignment was to take five distinct photos and caption them properly.
Close-Up
Parden looks at the hole one last time to make sure his shot will be accurate. Focus is the most important aspect to making precise shots. Parden has learned to focus through distractions such as a crowd cheering.
Action Shot One
Parden is looking at the hills and bends of the putting green in correlation with the ball and hole. He spends most of his practice time on the putting green. Putting and chipping or ‘short game,’ are the hardest obstacles to face in golf.
Detail Shot
Parden sinks the putt and will place the ball in roughly the same spot to putt it again. Consistency in golf is what makes putting and chipping significantly easier when it comes time to perform.
Action Shot Two
Before or after a round, Parden likes to hit the driving range to gain consistency with his driver and irons. The golf course is a comforting place for Parden because he can easily clear his mind from other things happening in his life.
Establishing Shot
James Parden, 19, at Laurelwood Golf Course, lines himself up with the golf ball in preparation for a short game of golf. He recently joined the UO Golf Club and practices alone to catch an edge on his opponents.
